Bald Eagle Head

£99.00

An additional interchangeable head for customers who already own a Yorkshire Foundry Complete Kit.

Hard to mistake for anything else.
A fresh face for your door without a whole new knocker. Swap the head, keep the base, done in a minute.

Beak forward. Eyes locked. Cast mid-glare, this eagle doesn’t hint, it lands. Modelled after the bald eagle. Textured plumage, upright posture, and that distinctive don’t-mess stare. Just the head, fully feathered.

Every feather is held by the process: 3D-printed in wax, then investment cast one at a time. Mass production presses from a worn die and the plumage blurs. Ours doesn’t. The detail is the point.

It attaches to the base you already own in seconds. No new holes, no drilling. You’ll need at least one complete kit to begin with, but every head in the range fits the same base.

Cast in Yorkshire from a marine-grade bronze alloy with the warm golden tone most people call brass. It arrives bright and will darken with time and touch. A quick polish brings it back.

Backed by a 30-year guarantee, wherever you are. We ship worldwide, fully tracked, with shipping and any duties shown at checkout, so the price you see is the price you pay. UPS to the US. If it’s not right, send it back within 90 days for a full refund: we’ve had three returns in five years, so it rarely comes to that.

Cast to order by a small foundry on the edge of the North York Moors. Sits well on deep green, black, a clapboard porch, or any front door that’s proud of where it stands.

Material. Solid marine-grade bronze. The copper alloy used on yacht propellers, offshore fittings, and marine hardware. Handles salt spray, rain, frost, and decades outdoors. Warm brassy colour that deepens with age. No plating, no lacquer, nothing to chip off. Weathers so much better than brass. Technically an aluminium bronze (AB2, CuAl10Ni5Fe4), but bronze covers it.

Casting. Investment cast from 3D-printed wax patterns. Capturing whiskers, feather, and fur captured in beautiful detail. Printed, cast, fettled, and finished in our Yorkshire foundry.

Fixings. Front-screw fix to the door face. Fits composite doors, solid wood doors, and metal doors. No through-bolts, no drilling all the way through.

System. The head separates from the base. Fit the base once, swap the head as often as you like. Fifty-plus heads available, plus a wreath holder.

Head only. Just the head. It attaches to the starter kit from a Complete Set already fitted to your door. If this is your first Yorkshire Foundry knocker, you need the Complete Set.

Guarantee. 30 years.

Bronze looks after itself. No polish, no cloth, no weekly routine. It will darken where it sits out of the rain and brighten where rain runs off it. That patina is the finish doing its job.

If you want it to look freshly cast again, a quick buff with a soft cloth and a little brass polish will bring the warm brassy colour back up. It will not come up to a full mirror shine, and that is deliberate. We do not lacquer the bronze, and every whisker, feather, and detail line on the head gets in the way of a perfect reflection. We would rather keep the character than the gloss.

Left alone, it will still be bright and yellowy. Just not mirror shine.

Frequently asked

Do you make them in silver, CHROME OR ANTIQUE BRASS?

No. We believe in truth to materials. Every head is cast in our marine-grade bronze. We don't believe in plating. For a different finish, we can coat it in Cerakote ceramic paint (the finish used on firearms and aerospace hardware) for a supplement. Any colour you like, done to order. Please email us.

How big is it?

Head and base dimensions are listed on each product page. We are measuring and photographing the full set at the moment, so a handful are still to come.

Do you ship to the US?

Yes. We ship regularly to the USA, Canada, EU, Central and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and most destinations in between. All taxes and delivery calculated at checkout.
