Refund and returns

At Yorkshire Foundry we make things differently. Each piece is cast in small batches, finished by hand, and intended to last a lifetime. No two are identical. Tiny variations and surface irregularities are part of the process and, in our eyes, part of the beauty. We believe it would be wasteful and wrong to discard otherwise outstanding work in pursuit of flawless uniformity.

That said, you should love what you choose. If you are not happy, we will put it right.

How long you have

You have 90 days from receiving your order to request a return, for any reason at all.

If you are in the European Union, you also have a statutory 14-day right to cancel without giving a reason. Both clocks start the day after delivery, and the 90-day window is the longer of the two.

What we can take back

To be eligible for a return, the item should be:

  • In the same condition as when you received it, unused, with no marks or wear
  • In its original packaging
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (your order confirmation email is fine)

Bespoke and commissioned pieces cannot be returned unless they arrive faulty or do not match the agreed brief. Sale items and gift cards are non-returnable.

How to start a return

  1. Email us at hello@yorkshirefoundry.com with your order number and which item you would like to send back.
  2. We will reply confirming your return so we know to expect it. Please do not send anything back before you hear from us, as unannounced returns cannot be accepted.
  3. Pack the item carefully in its original packaging and post it back to the address below.
  4. Return postage is on the customer for change-of-mind returns. If the item arrived damaged or incorrect, that one is on us.
  5. Once we receive the item and check it over, we process the refund.

Honest heads-up. We have had three returns in five years, mostly from house sales falling through. We are very practiced at making things and out of practice at the returns paperwork, so it may take us a minute to find the right form. Drop us an email first and we will get you sorted.

Refunds

Approved refunds are processed in full to your original payment method. No restocking fee, no deductions, no hidden costs. Most refunds clear within 10 business days, though banks and card providers can take a little longer at their end. If more than 15 business days have passed and the money has not appeared, email hello@yorkshirefoundry.com and we will chase it.

Exchanges

Because each piece is cast in small batches, direct exchanges are only possible when the new piece is in stock. The quickest route is to return the original item, wait for the refund to clear, and place a fresh order for the piece you want.

Damaged or incorrect orders

We check every piece before it leaves the foundry. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or not what you ordered, let us know straight away. We cover the return postage and we replace or refund without quibble. The marks of casting are part of the work. Damage and faults are not.

90 days. Full refund. No restocking fee. Return postage is on you for change-of-mind, on us if we have made a mistake. Email first, because the form is somewhere in our office.
